Dr (Fr) John Parankimalil (P.D. Johny) awarded Global Education Excellence Award 2016

Dr. Fr. P.D. Johny was awarded Global Education Excellence Award by Prime Time On 10th April 2016 at New Delhi. The award was put under the category, Best Principal of Teacher Teaching Institute in Meghalaya.” In a glittering function held in the B.Ed college on the occasion of the felicitation of this years’ university toppers, this award along with citation was presented to Fr. P.D. John by Rev. Fr. Guillermo Basańes, Extra Ordinary Visitor to the Province of Guwahati and the General Councillor for Missions of the Salesian Congregation, headquartered in Rome, in the presence to Rev. Fr. V.M. Thomas, Salesian Provincial, Fr. Johnson Parackal, Provincial Councillor and In Charge of Youth Pastoral, Education and Culture and Fr. Joseph Teron, Provincial Councillor, besides teachers and teacher-trainees of DBCTE on 20th April 2016. The students of DBCTE came out in flying colours registering cent percent pass with eight top Ranks in the University (NEHU). The college has been consistently getting top ranks and 100% pass percentage under his leadership. Fr. Johny’s contribution to Education has been recognized in the past and many awards were given to him like, Computer Excellence Awards for Schools when he was the Principal of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India in 2002 and in 2009 Gems Foundation’s Best Teacher Award (East Zone) from Shri Kapil Sibal, HRD Union Minister and more recently in 2014 and 2015, the Government of Meghalaya was pleased to award him with State award of ‘Pioneer of Education’ (2015) and Mission Green Award (2015) from the hands of the Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma.
